Gonna try something new

Well Im loving a lot of the style parts of people blogs at the moment. This has got me thinking I wanna show you my style! Not that I have much of it and I will only show you on days that I like how I look :P But first I'm going to share with you a dear friend Jeki's fashion blog . Shes gone through every style (nearly) and knows enough on what suits her by doing so! Her blog is on fashion for REAL women yep none of those size 0 bimbos! So if your interested read here!

So mine is going to be a double whammy of yesterdays in the pink and todays in the blue.
kinda small but you get the jist and I will get better!

not the best photo quality due to being taken really early under the wrong light!!

forgetful

Just realised that I never uploaded a picture of the booties for my friends babies by themselves! I even tried to be artsy which I'm not very good at!!

finally gotsa a knitting again!

Ive been knitting again hurrah!

I decided to knit a headband. Im going to make some more for people for christmas and with thinner wool. But in different colours. It took me only a few hours to make too.

I prefer it with the button to the front I think and I definitely need to use thinner wool!

quichey goings on

Awhile ago I posted about my quiche now I'm pretty sure I posted the pastry recipe. So heres the quiche recipe.

4 large eggs
200mls of milk

Thats it! The rest is up to you! Ive done cheese and onion, ham and cheese, Mediterranean vegetable and my most recent creation that I didnt get chance to take a photo of as it was devoured quicker than I dont know what was ham, leek, cheese and mixed peppers hot damn that was good!

one big happy tour

So! Bowling For Soup eh?

I hear you say!

YES! They were outstanding!
The Dollyrots were the band I was itching to see were slightly disappointing. They have so many good songs and didn't play many of them. Patent Pending were really good, well worth a listen.

Photos you ask? Why yes yes I did get photos, BUT! But first let me tell you a story. The gig was for Emzio's birthday, She knew Stringer and I were going. Whilst she ordered food Yvonne crept in and stood behind her. She was there for what seemed like ever before Emz noticed then cue the much needed girly screams! It was such an awesome feeling that I managed to keep an exciting secret!

So yes I cant keep you hanging on for pictures....but wait I can theres more!! In Yorkshire we chant 'YORKSHIRE' kinda to be expected right? well the bands all thought we were chanting 'your shit' which clearly we weren't. So Jared decides to create a chant. the chant went 'if your not from Yorkshire your penis is small, if your not from Yorkshire you have no penis at all' so clearly everyone roared with laughter. He then created another one which went 'If your not from Yorkshire your vaginas not tight, if your not from Yorkshire your vagina doesn't feel right' again cue fits of laughter!

ok! ok! pictures I know! Here you go!

BOWLING FOR SOUP

Monday 15 October 2012

interesting...

Well I have found an ebook about glass bottle slumping.

When Steven and I were in Lanzarote for our foreign honeymoon we found a stall in the Teguise market that sold flat glass bottle clocks. We instantly fell in love with them and bought one for Stevens older brothers birthday. It was a morgans spiced rum which is his favourite. I really wanted to work out how to make them as they make an awesome gift.

Then whilst on you guessed it pinterest I found a link to a website which is here .This ebook tells you how to prepare your bottles and how to turn them into trays or wall hangings. Ifell in love! I book the ebook for about £19 which to be fair is fairly expensive but I got free things with mine.

Now I need to find out where has a kiln that I maybe able to rent so I can make some next year as gifts or even to sell.

busy busy busy

Ive been well busy recently and none of it has been crafty or christmas related argh!

I have been working, helping my friend pack stuff ready for a house move. However I have got a list of things im going to try next year.

One of which is a sky scarf. Basically every day of the year you knit just one row in the coordinating colour of the sky that day. Where I live I can already tell you what colours its gonna be grey grey and maybe a patch of blue! I thought its an interesting concept that wont take a whole lotta time.

With halloween fast approaching my mind has been turned to fancy dress. Its also the night of one of my besties leaving do. Im thinking cosplay this year, Ive always wanted to try it and Steven is addicted to Final Fantasy. It for sure is his second love. I thought it might be a nice surprise for him to join the two together. Now I loathe final fantasy but I love him. I have found an outfit that works out at around £75 at least before p+p. Its a character off XIII - XIII-2 she is the only one that doesnt show her stomach. So a big win for me. But she is also in essence the female version of Cloud which practically every man loves including Steven so I thought BOOM! I will dress up as Lightning. Stevens best mate thinks its the best idea ever so next week I will look into buying it!

Are you dressing up for halloween if so what as?

emzio's birthday cake craziness

It was my best mate Emmas birthday last week and as I was on nights I decided to cook tea when her, Sarah and I were all free. We had meatballs and pasta for tea and I made her some special cupcakes. Surprise surprise I found this on pinterest. Basically put your batter in the cases as normal then just stick an ice cream cone on top then bake until cooked. I topped mine with fudge and sugar sparkles in oir favourite colour green! Plus a candle which until she blew it out I had forgotten I had bought re-lighting candles for Stevens older brothers cake earlier in the year.

gig gig gig

Well! I'm particularly stoked for the coming week. I've been waiting to see Bowling For Soup for like ever and next friday I get to go see them with three of my best friends! Its going to be amazing! And to make it even better The Dollyrots who I also adore are supporting! I didnt even think they were still touring! When I heard that they were supporting I screamed a little! Well as I said in an earlier post things had to start looking up and they are!

I was worried with moving back to my old job we were going to struggle with money for a month, but I recieved in the poat yesterday a tax rebate for a grand! So Steven can get his money for the bills and I can finally buy some new clothes and put some of it aside for when we go to Edinburgh. This means we can actually not worry about spending money as I get another payday before we go too.

Happy realisation of the day, postive thinking/attitude may have some credibility after all :)

my vegetables

My bean and tomato plants died :( I was devastated I think I over watered them. I never professed to be a good gardener this was my first proper attempt. Next year I will implement a schedule and tick sheet with when I have watered them and how much. Then I should have a better chance of them growing and producing an edible crop. I feel bad though because the tomato plant was given to me by my friend.

A few punk rock housewife failings

Well I have been putting up things that have worked well and I'm proud of but you have got to make mistakes somewhere right? Well, I have certainly learnt where I went wrong for when I try them next time.

Washing curtains... good god how women used wash and iron them regularly I don't have a clue. Its hard, like as they are so big you have to flip them over a few times to get the main creases out. Mine are still creased a wee bit but I have given up haha never again will I do my on curtains!.

Cheese making, now everything was going well until the final stages of stretching and heating but I soon realised when it says use 8 pints of milk use 8 pints of milk! It wont work properly!

The gingerbread mixture for my houses needs to be followed exactly, also reading the instructions for the rest would help. I was getting muddled up in my head. Next time I would portion out the dough into 4 to get an even thickness and not try to over use the small space in my kitchen.

bambino

Well I thought I would share my basic but I think cute baby booties and bibs. They dont take long to make up. They are for my pretty much sister Shelly's little baby girl Jasmine and my close friend Maddys little boy Lennie. I decided to make tiny pom poms for the booties and cute little star buttons on the bibs.

So I have started my christmas stockings. Im knitting one for everyone in my family including Steven and I. Thats what erm like 17 so I have to get cracking. they are all going to be different too. Im making my own designs within a premade pattern. Here is the first half of one.

As it is made to be sewn together it does look mishapen but it will look better once finished.

Do you have any plans for christmas? Are you going homemade too?
